
After three years of study, Karl's career began working in a well known multimedia house who employed him giving him further opportunity to hone his craft, specialising in digital retouching and other computer aided photographic design techniques. From there he went on to work alongside renown automobile photographer Michael Lewis. During his time with Michael, Karl was rewarded with many unique opportunities to expand his own portfolio as well as undertaking retouching on many award winning campaigns. With this experience under his belt, Karl initiated a solo career, shooting many award winning campaigns (SA Loeries and Cannes) for advertising agencies under his own name and enjoying their success. He is comfortable shooting both in the studio and on location.
Ten years on and Karl decided he needed to move on to new opportunities which necessitated a move of continents. Although his love for the African landscape is in evidence in his portfolio, he chose to relocate to the chillier climates in the UK, from where he has gone on to shoot a healthy bouquet of international locations. Basing himself in London, Karl has worked for both freelance and contracted lead photographer for moofe where he has become experienced with a specialist skill in backplate photography for CGI applications and spherical HDRI data capture.
